Our thinking, perceptions and reactions are doctored by our cosy status ovet the past few hundred years to such an extent that we blot out any thought that someone not within our enclave can have a different view (or wants)!


Does that not explain that wnenever there is a negative report about the Government (sic ANC), there is often more derision and ridicule even on this site from certain identifiable quarters?

That underlines the often paranoid, ignorant and even vitriolic responses.

For instance, that heading above by Titch reproduced herehas been totally misleading and false; an apology has been made by the media for sensationalising it! (you did not ask of him ''And your point you are trying to make is what?'' ....... not surprisingly?)

There is so much of crap in th media and so many eager to swallow it up!

Both sides remain equally demented!

I maintain; we lack leadership on all sides for the rainbow nation to gel! I don't see such a leader in the next 1 000 years!!

I'm not really one for politics - but when the leader of a country wants a 300 seater jet costing R1 billion (or whatever), one surely can not take him seriously when he says that he can't sleep at night because of worrying over the people's poverty?

There is plenty of one sided racial bashing going on....blaming the western civilization for the black man's problems.

This topic is about the screw up with the current education system and the people in charge of it.

When the white man was in power, he provided the opportunity for his race to be educated at the highest level, by providing the facilities and the resources.

We now have a black government in power. Why are they not doing the same for their people.

I am a newspaper vendor so I appreciate all the extra business ANC and the PREZ create without them we would have thin ass newspapers.

I am also not white, but to answer your question:
If they educate their people,they will lose their power.
To stay in power they need those masses to be uneducated...{stupid}

Neither am I.... yet, but, my kind are marginalised by the ANC/Government because we are not black enough/Africans! Yet, my ancestors and I have a greater right to this country as Khoisan! Ever heard of a Khoisan saying 'Africa for Khoisans' like....... 'Africa for Africans!'?

When I grew up under Nkosi Luthuli, the one thing he impressed upon me was....'get education'!


To remind the current lot of ANC politicians about their duty/obligation to the mass seems to be a crime!

No wonder 'Animal Farm' is still prescribed reading....keep the ignorant serfs under bondage by showing them how they can also eat cake.... by being led in perpetuity!

White farmers must now pull out all the stops and come to the land reform party.

This was the message from organised agriculture on Saturday after a push for a constitutional amendment that could have resulted in land being expropriated without compensation was narrowly defeated at the ANC’s policy conference in Midrand this week.

After heated debates in the ANC’s land reform policy commission, chaired by Agriculture Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson, it was agreed that land reform should continue within the confines of the constitution, which requires landowners to be compensated.

But it was a close run thing.

According to sources who attended the meetings, there was a determined campaign, led mainly by the ANC Youth League but including delegates from Limpopo, North West and Eastern Cape, to do away with the constitutional provision on compensation. Joemat-Pettersson and others had argued that this could lead to a collapse of the economy, and would have devastating consequences for food security.

Agri SA president Johannes Möller conceded on Saturday that commercial farmers had “got off quite lightly” at the gathering, “given the sentiments that were expressed in the months leading up to the conference”. But he hastened to add that the policies proposed this week were not set in stone, as they would have to be ratified at the ANC’s national conference in Mangaung in December.

And seemingly aware of the narrow bridgehead held against unfettered expropriation, Möller said commercial farmers would now have to do “a lot of work” so that those in the ANC who “defended the constitution” would be able to go to Mangaung with “tangible proof of the bona fides of white commercial farmers”.

Joemat-Pettersson told Independent Newspapers on Saturday that the ANC would not “collapse” the economy with an “irresponsible” approach to the vexing and emotive issue of land reform.

In closing on Friday, President Jacob Zuma said the “willing buyer-willing” seller policy would be replaced by the “just and equitable” principle in section 25 of the constitution.
