I love the comment.............."Wise choice desperately unlucky not to get through "
Should have been "desperately unlucky to receive a typical crappy Western Cape ride" ...........lol
Exactly why form doesn't mean much ......luck plays a huge part.More horses are baulked and checked in one meeting in the WC than on most courses in a month!
I wonder how long it will take for WC racing to realise that better racing may lead to better turnover!

Listening on the fone....on entering the straight called as being second last, then with 400m's to go call is.."and wider out is Wise Choice".. and 5 seconds later 'Wise Choice batlling to get through on the rails...can't get through'.... My brain did little flic flacs trying to visualise that switch.............. yes talking from pocket.

It was always out back and on the inside,a blind beggar or even titch would have to think it was a kak ride...

Hibs, go to tabgold video archive and LISTEN to the commentary. That means the commentator called it wrong as he called him second last into the straight with only Yodac behind and then suddenly 4th or 5th wider out... followed by the rail call.

Gold Academy in the next and Princess Jacqueline in the last... and I'm gone again (even these brief in-outs are proving costly at the moment, still at least its the Vaal on the sand tomorrow?!?!)

Magi, that was why I stopped backing individual horses in Cape Town...............there is an obsession to weave through the traffic instead of look for the clear way through.
When I had horses in the Cape I was told that the stable give no instructions to Jocks................I asked if it would be OK to not be too specific and limit the request to "shortest way round the turn and clearest way down the straight".........when that was not OK I decided no more horses and no more bets..............I still take PA's I have evolved a strategy which works pretty well.
Won't comment more on that to avoid the inevitable abuse ,but the P&L account is fine.............lol
