Pretoria – Former Springbok captain Joost van der Westhuizen says his estranged wife, singer Amor Vittone can't wait for him to die.
Van der Westhuizen said this during an interview broadcast on Ballz Radio, in which he said Vittone saw him as "the enemy", reported Beeld.
Van der Westhuizen, who was suffering from motor neuron disease, was apparently talking with difficulty and at times, was hard to understand.
He commented on allegations that he was dragging his heels in finalising the divorce but said he was unable to meet the financial demands made by Vittone.
"I can't anymore give everything that Amor wants."
"I have no hidden agenda as to why I haven’t signed the settlement. I am simply forced to negotiate more due to my illness."
In an interview with Heat magazine, Van der Westhuizen apparently said he was happy to have contracted the terminal illness as he now knew where he came from and no longer was the man he used to be.
Vittone said she would not comment on what Van der Westhuizen had said.

agree! To the haters: have none of you ever made a mistake? what would people say of you if every little detail of your life was broadcast? yes, they shouldn't have broadcast their personal issues in the public, but the fact is that this guy is going to suffer in a horrible way and one day be trapped in a body with full mental ability but not being able to move a muscle. i think that is more punishment than he deserves. think about that before posting your comments.

And then lied to her after she asked him to be honest. I remember her commenting how she trusted him as she "could see the truth in his eyes". All in all this is just very sad - Joost screwing up, a glamour couple that was in love and now have reached this mud throwing stage, a brilliant athlete that gets this debilitating disease, what they are doing to their kids etc. It is always sad to see potential being wasted - I remember feeling the same about Hansie.

Despite the wrongs this man committed against his wife (I would find it very hard to forgive him if he was my husband) that does not make it acceptable to want him to die. Can they please get divorced in private. So he had an affair, get over it, divorce him do what you like but just get on with it in private because Amor did her part in keeping this in the public. He is not the first man to have an affair and will not be the last. If you get cake at home you will probably not go looking for bread elsewhere. There are always two sides to the story but to keep dragging the public into this is plain childish.

There's nothing worst then being used by someone. He can't even apologise. He was in socks sniffing coke with some chick while Amor was concerntrating on right things-her family, her career. He can't even apologise. He is not a gent and doesn't know what a real man is. She's not commenting because she is a lady. Joost is the one who always brings it up in the media.

So 'n bek kort jam seducect. Ek is ook siek vir albei van hulle se gemors. Hulle se hou jou ding uit gate uite dan bly jou gat uit dinge uit. So vat jou punch Josie Cowboys dont cry.

Amor is just plain greedy and heartless. goes to show love never existed from Amor in their marriage - it was pure lust and greed for fame and money

So the fact that Joost cheated on her with another woman, using drugs and lying about it has nothing to do with her being 'heartless'... sometimes i really don't understand how you people argue!

He didn't murder or rape anyone, so why does he deserve this hatred from people. Be careful what you wish for.........what goes around, comes around!!!!!!

Just a pitty Joost could not identify the gold-digger for what she was before they married. Most people could do just that. She will not stop demanding until Joost dies, she already has everything he had and is even trying to keep his children away. What 'n pittiful woman she is.

No, he was a bad husband for even doing what he did, it's not her fault he could not keep it in his pants! And besides, it's pathetic to blame a woman if her husband wears underwear with holes in, I'm sure his mother taught him not to.

They are well suited. He cheated on his first wife, she was the other woman and it was then okay for him to cheat . Now he cheated on her – shame? They both the same !! Just because he is a sports celebrity and some people respect his achievements in sports it doesn’t make him right and her wrong. They both wrong.

I, too, would not give a flying u know what about a man would cheated on me & our kids with several women. who led me to believe we had a beautiful home and family. Amor is a far nicer person. Joost has always been an attention seeker. Get what u want from him, Amor!

Who cares, not to be funny ,the children will get his money anyway, with or without a divorce, the situation has to come to the same conclusion, witch sadly for joost is his death .it is just a matter of time!!! I don't see why he would want to put his dirty laundry in public like this unless he is not dying ? He should concentrate on his quality of life rather than put himself thou media hell , for what?

she is an Italian woman ,what she did is an italian job ,once you date someone because of the status and so on that lead man into mental instability is because we dont listen to our true friends and start making new friends ,been old means that you have enough friends and making new friends is the biggest mistake we make ,he has been adviced to do right but choose to do his way ,man dont laugh at the down fall of fellow man and thats what we must do support joost and pray for his health and get better as well .friends for joost must be organised to support him mentaly.
