Power of the press

I read sporting post online .... and there is a glaring commission and glaring inclusion so far this week...
Glaring commission... the articles on the Durban July. None. I think the place would have been luminous with articles if Jackson had won. So the way I see it Sean Tarry has enemies, or Strydom or the owner???? But something is seriously amiss....
Second issue. Glaring inclusion. The course bashing of upset results at Kenilworth and the sprint distance bias... under the banner 'The danger zone'. I am sorry but tracks like Flamingo and the Vaal together deserve this title the last couple of decades. And I smell a huge rat here. The obvious aim would be to reduce turnover at the Cape track. Quote.. '
Competitive racing compounded by schizophrenic form and tentative racing surfaces, '... what did they call the July result? Normal expected and predictable?
Who are the Herman Goebels with the poison pens at Sporting post? Or is there a recent addition... ???

....I'm sure there will be a fairy tale story about the owner and the pedigree advisor teaming up on the breeding of the July winner.....the man has spent plenty on so called quality..... yet a dogged believe in a mare and her familiy are now the result of what can be achieved in such a belief......

Thanks for feedback Suz. You have listed many articles on the pre race and other races but only one on the highlight race of the last two months. Apologies for not seeing this particular article. I think Pomodoro deserves more limelight and praise. If it was Jackson or Pierre J or Ilha I am sure there would have been more glamorous reporting. Pomodoro has won 3 grade ones and is only 3.
Then for the inclusion.. I REALLY do not think Kenilworth and cape racing deserves the damning articles referenced, and cape racing is vindicated by the mild results which were the order of the day at Kenilworth today.
I think you owe cape racing a few positive articles to mend the damage. We have had MANIC rain here the last two weeks, as we do every winter at some stage, and NO race course in the world would handle the deluge we have experienced.
Other than that no complaints and hope the comments can be seen as constructive.

They say a good horse is never a bad colour, so by that token a good horse can never come from a 'bad' province
A champion remains a champion. They come in all shapes and sizes, from all the four corners of the country and from all sorts of breeding and backgrounds. We can categorise, analyse and theorise as much as we want - as Chris alluded, at the end of the day horses make fools of all of us!! When all's said and done, perhaps the best advice is just to sit back and appreciate a good horse doing what it does best
@ Soodum - should be back next week I believe.

We are exceptionally lucky to be living in a really rich era in racing that will be spoken about for many many years to come Sea the Stars, Frankel, Black Caviar,Camelot are some that spring to mind...
