One meeting per day...

This subject may have been raised before but can someone explain to me why there is only one meeting per day in many weeks over the winter when during the summer there are a couple of days per week when there are two meetings on three days... usually Tuesday and Friday as one day and one night and then two on Saturday afternoons. I can't believe the number of people attending makes it financially so much better so why are they restricted to these periods only... why for example can't Fairview also hold a meeting on Monday together with Flamingo, though to be honest where they are held is not really important provided there are sufficient runners.
I partly raise this because I am somewhat frustrated and bored with the standard of races at the moment. There are so many maiden races etc which are often the hardest to predict winners from, and certainly for me the least fun in trying to find a winner. If there were more meetings (with maidens restricted to say 10 runners) there would be more winners produced and therefore less maiden races. I also often read that trainers/owners have to run horses over distances that are not most suitable for the horse simple because there are insufficient suitable races. Surely, more meetings would help resolve this.
I am sure there are some very good reasons which I would love to hear about, but surely for the good of decent, competitive and interesting racing this issue needs to be addressed?

Off season and too few tracks to support more racing

Cape have their rainfall this time of the year so often have abandoned meetings. Most of the top horses leave the highveld in the winter and the ones left behind are usually put away due to the hard ground, leaving us maidens and lowly merit races.

Don't worry as the winter is almost over. :D

Thanks guys but that doesn't explain it away to me as 1) the double meetings are not normally in Cape Town 2) there are as many tracks now as in the summer :) and 3) there are plenty of races with very large (poor) fields now. And that is partly my point Titch (I knew that it was coming up but it wouldn't surprise me if at least one was abandoned), why can't they do more?
Winter surely has a good 2 months left Shrek!?
