THE Champion Juvenile Cup (Grade 3) over 1400m, a race for two-year-olds scheduled to be run at Fairview last Friday 13 July, will now be run on Monday 23 July. The field will remain as declared last Friday and the R200,000 race will be the topliner on a nine-race card.

A total of 42mm of rain fell at Fairview last Friday and rain continued through the weekend. Weather forecasts from Wednesday are partly cloudy and sunny skies with a 40% chance of rain on Saturday.

Handicappers do not publish official merit ratings for two-year-olds, but do assess their performances through the season. The unofficial ratings for the Champion Juvenile Cup runners (as carded):

The 1400 looks too far for Le Var. Hopefully Homer can confirm. Placido was green in running last time and still managed to win going away. I think that run was enought o confirm he can win this race. Just my opinion of course.
