Dominguez dominant with Saratoga six-timer

RAMON DOMINGUEZ, winner of the Eclipse Award as champion jockey for the last two years, was in dominant form when he recorded a six-timer at Saratoga on Sunday.

The only other jockey to have achieved the feat in the 144-year history of America's most prestigious venue is John Velazquez.

Dominguez scored on six of his seven mounts. "I am very excited," he said. "Coming into today, I looked at the programme and was very excited about my chances and everything clicked into place.

"I am very happy to win six races - this is a place you want to do it, for sure. Saratoga is really the meet. It doesn't get any better than this."

Dominguez's six winners were Paper Plane, Summer Front, Rigby, Temper In Command, Reach For Peach and Wet One.
