I would think with all the Intl racing joining the fray (and the volume of intrest in it, betting wise ) we have more than enough local racecourses.

You say tote turnover has never been better and focus on the overseas growth, local turnover is not growing at anything like the rate as overseas which tells its own story.

How much of the overseas tote turnover goes into local stakes? Comingled or otherwise?

Come to think of it, how much of LPM and Bingo turnover goes into local stakes?

OK lets move on, you say in a previous post "What is in the best intrests of horse racing" thats what you support I take it.

So, the divis that Phumelela shell out due to the performance of this all important shareprice, 38% or so go back into racing via the Racing Trust shareholding, thats a good thing, correct?

That I wouldn't know. I think though that the best thing they ever did to boost racing and turnover was to introduce the INTL racing.I'm not an accountant or fin wizz but from what I can see they doing damn well ( 5th position on the stock market etc. ). Who would have ever imagined a 80K quartet pool on a 9 horse Lingfield race.I don't know about the stake increases and would like to see the % increase say for the last two years and how often it's been increased. Maybe you could publish that for us to view on here. Or have a thread on owners feelings about current stake monies (Mind you, it's never enough is it ? ).Shows you how liked your site is.I'm still here at 2.Off to bed now.
All the best. Nite.

And while you eulogize about Clyde's promotion, maybe a couple of questions from ABC and some RA members who are not scared to ask, like ;

Whose decision was it to appoint Clyde as sole director of North Rand Training Centre and Randjesfontein T C (Pty) Ltd ?

Why was the decision to apply for racing rights by Randjesfontein (Pty) Ltd not communicated to members ?

What guarantees can we be given that not a fraction of our (RA's) largest remaining asset wont end up in Phumelela's hands ?

In the meanwhile a few of us RA members will send off to Clyde and the RA Board a list of these questions for their response as nothing seems to be forthcoming.

These are major concerns and thus far their actions are devoid of transparency and cause for alarm.

good day, as a (naive) member of the former Owners and Trainers association, i seem to recall that long long ago we were supposedly to receive shares in ownership of Newmarket. Anybody able to update on this??
