This was his eighth consecutive European Group 1 victory, breaking the previous record of seven in a row set by Rock of Gibraltar.

Let's give some credit to the sire, Galileo. Sire of Frankel, Sea The Stars (wonderful name) and Igugu. I still think he was one of the greats but they say the mark of a great stallion is one that can produce horses up to and better than the standards he, himself, set on the racetrack, and Galileo has done it over and over again. Remember his terrific duels with Fantastic Light, who has never really made it as a sire?

Frankel does not currently hold an entry for the Arc........But, Abdullah admitted: “I will talk to Henry and, if he thinKs so, we will take him there.”

Abdullah’s racing manager, Lord Teddy Grimthorpe, expanded: “There is the Moulin – we have talked about that before - there is the Champion Stakes, there’s the QEII, there’s a race called the Arc de Triomphe, which he’s not entered in. We have to give that some consideration but, as Henry said, the horse will tell us where we’re going. We have to talk about plenty of things now. Everything will be discussed – it’s a nice problem to have. How lucky could we be?”

Me thinks he will run in the Arc ;)

I think Henry and owner have been overly conservative with Frankel's schedule. Yes we're lucky to see him run at 4 and for that they should be applauded but in my book they took too long to take the step up in distance. The ARC is the obvious target now he has proven he stays 2000m.

Would be a great shame if he was not tried over 12 furlongs before retiring.

Suppose your right Sasky, but the arc is the roughest race on the planet, can you see the french let Frankel run up the inside? or Frankel staying in the soft running wide? Might be a smaller field if he runs though, unless Coolmore would risk the triple crown winners unbeaten record against him?

Frankel is simply awesome (tu). Spare a thought for the late American trainer Bobby Frankel who it is name after. Frankel definitely the 21st century's best.

Good point Naresh, how apt that the horse followed in the footsteps of his namesake..

Robert Julian Frankel(July 9, 1941 – November 16, 2009) was an American thoroughbred race horse trainer whom ESPN called "one of the most successful and respected trainers in the history of thoroughbred racing."He was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1995, and was a five-time winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer. Often referred to as "Bobby" by others, he preferred and always used "Robert." Frankel set the single-season world record for most Grade/Group I victories in 2003 with 25 Grade I wins, a record he still holds.

That is scary ::o also interesting that Rock of Gibraltar, Sea The Stars and Zenyatta won 26 G1's by a combined total of 40 lengths. Frankel's 9 have been won by 49.
