What a bloody fool I am. A friend of this site and a good mate has kindly pointed out the inaccuracy of my earlier posting. Sea The Stars is, of course, the half-brother to Galileo, by Cape Cross, and not a son of Galileo, as I asserted. A month in a hospital bed addles the brain.

Surely when you that good you gotta take on all the obstacles and elements and go for the biggest prize. They can do what they like, Frankel should still find the winning post anyway and if he gets beat for whatever reason then so be it. The Arc would be the final piece in a magnificent puzzle!

I would also love to see him once again in the Arc but understand fully if they don't run him..he is the best ever already and they have given us more than we could hope for in this weeks race..its inspiring to watch an athlete like that

Well 3/1 on offer for Frankel for Arc Camelot 4/1, so would guess Frankel would be kept for the Champion Stakes but tempted to have a wee ARC peck?

I'm getting a little peeved off with seemingly conflicting info. Is Frankel the highest rated ever or is he still not?
"Frankel (rated 140) still trails 1980s hero Dancing Brave (141) by about half a length in the official British Horseracing Board's (BHA) official ratings after another his easy win at York on Wednesday". www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Gillespi...33-detail/story.html
And I thought Sea Bird was the highest rated ever?

Frankel is Timeform rated 147.
www.timeform.com/main.asp
Timeform rate him the best horse they have assessed since they've been in business.
Previously highest rated horses are:-
Sea-Bird (born in 1962, rated 145)
Brigadier Gerard (born in 1968, rated 144) and
Tudor Minstrel (born in 1944, rated 144)
Until Frankel came along, no horse had breached the 140 rating barrier since the 1970s.

Aaah, so there are two rating bodies - Timeform and the BHA. I assume BHA began their ratings much later.
