the need for a second horse racing channel for racing purists

There is a definite need for another racing channel for local racing only, the racing enthuisiast who would like to focus solely on south african racing has to be subjected to split screens, poor camera work as horses go down to post and a rush to sometimes cover a normal maiden race in the uk, where there is a big local race on, surely our local product should come first, with all the interruptions it makes viewing unpleasant and it just becomes a solely betting channel where purists don't want to place bets on harness racing and ngong. Also teletrack should produce more nostalgic racing programmes focusing on our best horses, trainers and jockeys. They should interact with owners in the game and get different owners in every week to help preview race meetings where they have horses running, people enjoy entertaining television and have to be satisfied with just racing replays each evening and 3 racing programmes a week, we need to promote the sport we love even if we have to pay a small subscription fee each month at least we will have a great advertisement for sa racing and us people who are racing purists can enjoy a channel with no interruptions and a proper schedule which we can watch entertaining informative interesting shows which will only market our racing better, if you want to have a bet in every center of the world you can watch the normal tellytrack and phumelela can do turnover on that channel as well as charging a small fee for another channel for local racing and more entertaining programming that would also generate a lot of money, why this can't be done I don't know, it would make the sport we love so much more pleasurable to watch.

But why can't it be done, is it not better for those who want to enjoy local racing and not be subjected to all this rubbish, I'm sure most people will agree

Well then they don't want people to enjoy watching racing where they could have a second channel and still do the turnover on the monthly subscriptions

West - your comments are 100% correct. I have made this comment previously regarding this very same issue.
In these days of horse racing - we are exposed to so much International racing, that we hardly see full exposure given to our very own local racing. Thay even have to record horses going down to the start and show it to us later - we don't have enough time to have a bet. We need to have a thorough look at the parade ring - horses parading, all the connections inside the ring, etc. Most importantly, live interviews should be shown live - so that comments will be viewed from the winning jockey, trainer and connections in case they have chances with their other runners for the day. The punter needs to see all of this alive.
One channel should be for International racing and the other channel for local racing only with all the lead up to and after race interviews and post race interviews for every race.
Let's hope TT can have a look at this option as well.
Comments from other Clanners will enhance the authorities of researching these views. Maybe we can do a petition to this effect and sign it and send it to all the relevant authorities concerned. At the end of the day this 2nd channel will help all punters to enjoy horse racing to the fullest without any disturbance.

more chance that the 2013 July winner runs at Flamingo today - will never happen as there are not enough viewers to justify a 2nd channel (i'd love it but cannot see it)

Its not about enjoyment. Its about betting on live running races. The MAJORITY of punters/gamblers are happy to move from 1 live event to another they don't care about post or prerace interviews
The sooner people accept that this "betting shop bombardment" of betting opportunities is the norm the better.
OR
Lease your own channel and do it yourself

what abt us punters who dont bet on local crap racing and only punt on uk racing who dont even get to see races we punt on in favour of a crap race at flamingo or pe or vaal sand?they show us 1/8th screen on a gr1 race in uk and split screen with julie and rod doing preview of a maiden race at vaal sand.lol.its a joke and honestly most punters couldnt care a less what julie and rod fancies for a vaal sand meeting.the whole tt management needs to be ousted and people who know and understand racing should be put in charge, because the lot they hv now, has absolutely no idea what they are doing.
