I have posted many times before that more horses are checked/baulked/bunped in Cape Town in a week than the rest of the country in a month................REASON: most horses turn into the straight and duck to the inside rail, even from off the pace, and then rely on luck in running to weave through the gaps.
It is why I stopped punting there!

Rob... is there any great advantage in doing so? I have been screaming at a certain jock to go out on one particular horse twice and both times he hasn't... I don't get what they see as the huge advantage by ducking inside where the traffic is, is there one or is it all in their "minds"? I know the rail can be helpful obviously but is the ground often better there or something?
