Ravin, perhaps you should not only post your conspiracy theories and contribute to the threads more often? Because Shrek or any other forumite questions your theory, you go in hiding? How long ago did Cool River win his race and now you reappear. I guess we will see you in a month or so :S
Bring a good theory next time........perhaps Monre Steyn is kicking badly cos he actually wants to play for WP

Shrek, how can you say that even if the 'bad' decision was not given Afghanistan would still not have won the game :S ... that decision led to a mini collapse... and as they ahve a short batting line up that was going very well at the time... ??? Who knows ?

There will always be controversies and conspiracy theories and referees [Howard Webb] umpires etc. are the subject of such discussions some more than others of course.
However one could shrug it off and look the other way or raise questions about some decisions. I don't think shrugging and looking the other way will help in ensuring fair play at all times. Where there's money involved there's bound to be controversy and I for one support forums and individuals who raise these matters .

Magi I said that in my opinion India would still have won. 160 on that pitch was a good score when looking at how the batsmen struggled in the previous game, only Watto looked comfortable. It is easy to smash when there is no hope like Afganistan did at the start of the innings, if they got into a position where they could win the game they would have tightened up. It was a matter of time before a mini collapse happened. At the end of the day we will never know if Afganistan could have won, but I have watch enough sport to know that regardless of the lbw decision India would have won that game from that position many, many more times than they would have lost.

Mike I fully agree with you but as soon as I voiced an opinion different to Ravin's he became very defensive. This is a discussion platform and if we have to agree with everyone else all the time it would be a very boring site. I mearly didn't agree with certain comments that were made by Ravin, I don't mind at all about his conspiracy theory just don't take offence if someone questions it.

I did not watch the game. I also believe that match fixing takes place in any sport including horseracing. I just believe that we should not overly criticise without some proper justification. Only my opinion...
Nonetheless, an interesting thread, like most of the others on this site. (tu) I enjoy the contrasting opinions and views, and have a few giggles to myself. {giggles to myself} ala Brick in The Middle. (apologies to Magi for using his template:D)

Another shocking decision by Asad Rauf in the last over of the game between Mumbai Indians and Kings Punjab XI. Ugh or just blame David Hussey 27 in the last over he bowled in the Mumbai innings.

Asad Rauf won't be umpiring in the Champions Trophy
Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn by the ICC from officiating in the upcoming Champions Trophy in England following media reports that indicated he was under investigation by Mumbai Police.
"In the wake of reports that the Mumbai Police are conducting an investigation into Asad Rauf's activities, we feel that it is in Asad's best interests as well as those of the sport and the event itself, that he is withdrawn from participating in the ICC Champions Trophy," Dave Richardson, the ICC chief executive, said in a statement on Thursday.
The ICC did not mention what the Mumbai Police were reportedly investigating Rauf for, and said it had no further comment to make. A PCB official contacted by ESPNcricinfo said the board was unaware of the development. Rauf has been in India, officiating in the IPL.

an indian actor named Vindoo...was arrested a few days ago after talks and leads from cell phones of the 3 players arrested. He has admitted to having links with bookies and cell phones found at his house traced them to more people.1 such person that Vindoo made calls to,was asad rauf....another person being questioned tommorrow is the ceo of the Chennai Super Kings...he is gone into hiding and has been given until 11am tomorrow to hand himself to police for questioning.More arrests are imminant, with 2 more batsmen from Royals in IPL5 being named as having been involved in match fixing...this is only the tip of the iceberg,,,,1 RRoyal player that was arrested on the 17th,had already been payed 20 000 dollars as a down payment to have an over fixed for the match the following day...as Sunil Gavaskar said on an indian tv ....this could all be contained if betting in india was legalised.....food for thought...
