Hi Clan

I placed a R1500 winning bet on In a Rush antepost for the Emerald Cup, it is now scratched. Do I lose my money or am I entitled to a refund?

Thanks.

Well the bookmaker don't seem to think so...."Because the number on the ticket displays no28(antepost) and not no4 as carded, we cannot refund you". Isn't there some rule somewhere which can clarify this up? I don't want to make an issue of it if there is none.

Why would he lose his money Hibs? The way i see it is that he took a bet, the horse is scratched and he is due a full refund. If the punter loses his money without his selection even running, then that would be a surprise.......but i guess we learn something new every day 8-)

If the bet is placed BEFORE final acceptances(ie Ante-Post ).........no refund............if AFTER........full refund.

antepost.... you do your money cold..

The only thing in his favour is the ammended date

But the bet was to win the emerald cup..

For example our boss has backed Mr Tobin at 12/1 so if it winns he gets paid without any deductions

For me in an antepost market if your runner does not run you do not get a refund. Like for the early July bets where the horse doesn't make the final field you do your money. With the race being postponed it is difficult to know if the normal rules should apply as the date of the race had changed.

The date of final acceptances is unchanged..........that is why the field has not been renumbered and scratchings still reflect as such!

Stiffies>:D<

One would have thought a deduction in this case would have been sufficiant as the horse was at the start on Saturday ready to go, but I guess that's the way you learn!

Thanks for the info, at least I won't be making a fool out of myself to quarrel over it.(tu)
