If it was the scratched runner then neil can maybe explain how he got to this .....i can accept that he gave his tips before he knew it was scratched but best pick in parade but no horse???????.....disgrace if its true....

For me, yes it is exactly that. Not Neil personally, but T-track shows so little desire to improve their product for the punter and however much we moan and complain on different things, I quite simply don't think they even truly try to change. I honestly believe they look at us punters as mugs, almost looking on us with disdain. Why can't one of their production team join this forum and answer questions and offer explanations for issues and explain how they will improve in the future... too scared? too arrogant? They are close to the most unprofessional, inconsiderate bunch I have had the displeasure of viewing. I admire, just one example, Chainsaw who constantly seems to be smashing his head against the wall trying to get the job done right but seems surrounded by ineptitude. I can't excuse Neil (should know better springs to mind :) ) but I think the fault really lies with the hidden "team", they don't care because they aren't the face and its all about themselves and their pay packet not about the product. I challenge a TT person to join ABC and represent their product and deal with all, what seems to me, most deserved criticism. I am sure we will be reasonable (won't we???) if they show willingness to improve and follow through on that willingness. At the end of the day that is surely all everyone wants. Neil... I accept you apologise and that now there is little more you can do. I also appreciate that you you came on here, probably knowing you would get a little criticism, to do so again (tu) but... please make sure you put in measures so that the team you rely on, and consequently you, don't do it again :)

Neil P is highly professional in what he does..its easy to make a mistake like that when you under time pressures and live..he is one of the top boys from TT...I think a lot more wrong there than a little mistake like that lets be honest

Neil is good for racing no doubt but regardless of what a great guy he is not to pick up your first selection in the Parade ring or canter down is really poor. The punter at home is hoping you are his eyes and ears at the track and your creditability is shot when you select a horse that's not even a runner. Again I think we are down to Ken not managing his crew properly(It happens far too often) If you are on track as a tipster you have a responsibility to watch the horses ring and go down. If we criticize one guy for being poor then let another off lightly just because he happens to post here we are not trying to improve racing. We must move away from forum Nepotism if we believe ABC should be taken seriously. Neil has come on to apologize which is good but as the punter points out it's about money - How long do you think a financial adviser would last if he tipped you a company that had closed down for business?

I agree with many here...how can you tip a horse 1st to millions of people if you havent seen it parade or go down to the start...now you know why someone from the stable was smiling at you...this is poor.

Morning. now you guys have got it wrong, was not mentioned as the pick of the ring at all, lol.
Asked the cameraman if it left ring early and he said did not know. Normally one of the monitors would be on TT but yesterday kept jumping back to local ( on-course) so you don't see scroll . Only tipped it from studying form and selections were given upfront.
Not going to try to defend myself, I said sorry .

Trainers often get the horses into the ring late especially if they are a little hot and dont enjoy the waliking around and around. The rule states you only have to ring once and then if the saddling bell has not been rung you can leave the ring with the Stipes permission. This does happen and it sometimes the camera people are not ready yet and miss the canter past or even the horse going straight down t the start if it is messing around. The on course presenter could be talking about another horse or two and by then a horse has left and gone and on its way to the start. A mistake and Neil has apologised so its over.

To be fair races come in unrelenting waves and this was just another unimportant event so it's completely understandable. The other day in Gauteng where 2 presenters discussed the scratched horse as if it were a runner is a little harder to swallow.

I did notice that the horse was scratched, but I have screens and whatnot. You have to feel that IF the sport wants a professional look and feel to the face it presents to the world, it might go a long way to invest in the tools and technology. It won't backrupt anyone to kit presenters with laptops or tablets and proper fast connectivity so that they can have access to what every mugg has at home.

In fact, I have no idea how anyone can be a serious gambler on course because no one caters to them. If you don't bring you own technology to the track, I bet you won't know what the favoured trifecta is paying, or that by the time you found it and used to to frame your bet that the chances on getting on before the off in cash is small.
