Scotia on the Frankel farewell :(

Good morning to the Clan and hope you are alive and kicking and looking forward to seeing one of the greatest horses ever? making his farewell on Saturday in the Champion Stakes.

It will be sad to watch "Champion the wonder horse" for the final time and would have been delighted to watch him as a 4 year old running over a longer trip, but the stud value is a carrot that over rides the public sentiment.

All the superlatives have been posted on the site over the last year......link.....and I am sure a popular bet for the farewell will be the winning distance and it will be some performance to beat Cirrus by more than 6 lengths? and in this case, I will be going low on the spread, but more interested on the actual race than the gambling aspect.

The one concern at the time of posting is a heavy track and the thought of it being scratched would be the biggest anti climax in history.

Our local racing is picking up at the big T and some great races in store in the build up to the Summer Cup.

As far as the Hangover Sports Bar project, we have had our highs and lows, but still on track, although budget under strain, the blood pressure tablets have had to increase and the hair that is left has gone "50 shades of grey"

PJ was a R60k bargain buy

The Ready To Run Sale" is on everyone's lips and many hoping for a bargain and a chance at the big jackpot!.

The site continues to be as popular as ever and in addition to the racing and sport some other serious topics are taking centre stage.

In addition to government over spending, miners strikes, and other political threads, we have a few crackers on

Gold Circle/ Kenilworth racing merger, including objections...Comp Comm

Against SAA monopolies Mr Kantor..

No racing at Greyville.

On a lighter note, I have always had problems with my feet, but gather it could be worse if I was using Veet!

Veet Launched new product for hair removal for men. This product is designed not to be used in any intimate areas.

Men being men took this advice to heart, see below some of the reviews currently on Amazon.

Boys will be boys

Have a great weekend, good punting and may your God be with you

scotia

ps
Ping! Boylesports email with a bevy of Frankel specials for Saturday. Here they are: Frankel to win by under 4 lengths 2-1; Frankel to win by 4 to 6 lengths, inclusive, 2-1; Frankel to win by more than 6 lengths, 2-1. (11 hours ago)

You could be correct Harry, its always difficult to compare, Mill Reef, Secretariat etc, but on ratings was the best EVER.

Just wish we could have seen more.

On the subject of Frankel and the other threads

Was just thinking if he is a "jaffa" (seedless) remember George Washington!

So we might see the champ back on a track? Any betting.

Andy. I am sure at the off with the heavy going, the bet will be with Interbet, probably the same as Betfair.
I feel the distance is the way to go, if it does win by FAR, it will be the greatest beast ever IMVHO

Frankel a very special horse indeed, but can someone please explain to me how a horse with such a high MR can carry the same weight as a horse like Bullet Train? If this is his toughest competition then I don't know. If this was the July he would've given the other runners a ton of weight, like e.g. Pocket Power did? Isn't it then only about selecting the right races to run in? I recall somebody saying he has not won in record time....yet, maybe today.

Well all the best to him and his followers!!!

Today is " D Day ". The day the champ makes his final appearance. Here's hoping he goes out in a blaze of glory. Can imagine what the commentators would be raving about [forget Clyde]. Won't be a dry eye in the crowd on and off course including Her Majesty.

When he returns to the winners enclosure, the scenes, the tears, the kisses............

Please Sir, could I have more please?.....[ apologies to Oliver Twist ]
