Over the weeknd MJ fell from a horse near or at the winning line. Is there a problem with that patch of grass near the winning post? I am just asking, as i saw some of the trainers looking and pointing to the area yesterday?

Apparently clipped heels with Reptillian is what I heard.

Thanks for the reply Neil, but it doesn't really explain why the 2 trainers were discussing the patch near the winning line? One trainer actually called the other to show him....and pointed towards the area........probably nothing as i'm sure they won't race if it's dangerous.

Just an observation i had while at the track yesterday taking a few bets.

PeeKay - the Stipes report said the horse clipped heels with Reptilian and when she was moved, it appeared that she had lost a shoe, so that seems to verify the opinion stated in the report.

I was at gallops at Durbanville this morning and, in my opinion (and I'm not a track or turf expert) the track is patchy. There were constant puffs of dust as horses galloped over bits of track where divots had been filled with sand.

Again, I'm no expert - I'm just telling you what I saw.

My horse appeared to peck as he crossed the finish line (although he was on the stand side). His companion (closer to the inside rail where River Tigris went down) seemed to cope fine.

Before anyone thinks I'm trying to criticize Durbanville, I will also say that there were several other high powered Cape yards galloping horses there this morning and they weren't only running second string horses, so it would seem that the track is deemed good enough to gallop on.

Thanks R for the feedback. This thread was not opened to criticize Durbanville at all. I was just wondering if some of the trainers thought there were some spots on the track that were questionable.......but clearly i am of the wrong opinion.

No u are not, there are certain areas that are not in a good shape and are being dealt with to try to sort out......hundreds of horses ,lots of rain on a tight turn causes problems....
