Eskom wants 16% tariff increase over next 5 years

In 2010/2011 Eskom’s directors’ remuneration report reveals that R18.5-million was paid to executive committee members, compared to last year’s R8.8-million. The biggest winner was human resources head Bhabhalazi Bulunga, who pocketed 507% more at R3-million, compared to last year’s R501 000.

I can accept that we need to expand the 'grid' in terms of future growth etc.

But......

I think (stand to correction) Escom still provides neighboring countries (and some large SA companies / institutions) with power at reduced rates - surely this can't continue?

Also I can't see the justification for paying the 'executive committee members' these vast amounts - rather employ more people in the Public Protector's Office - as the number of issues needing investigation are growing day by day ....:
