SportingPost/WinningForm do it again!!!

A HUGE thanks to Lance Banson + Monty at Sportingpost/WinningForm for organizing a free subscription to a fellow rider in a bad way.

I approached them a few weeks ago about sending some books up to former Jockey Ricky Kleinsmit to help pass his time as a permanent patient at Old Hillcrest Hospital.

Ricky was the stable rider to the late Paul Denysshen yard and was a leading rider in Natal being the regular pilot of horses like Amperpondo + funny enough a fast Mare called ABeCee!!!

He is the brother-in-law of former Kzn trainer Ron Phillips who is married to Tracy, a previous Matron of the Jockey Academy.
Ricky suffers from seizures that stopped his racing career instantly but we were able to get him into Dubai for a workriding stint before his health deteriorated rapidly on his return home.

Ricky lives every day with mild Amnesia + progressive Parkinsons brought on by the severe seizures.

We are hoping that being able to read the regular Racecards + racing news will either jog his memory or at least give him some sort of comfort of what he was able to achieve in his short career.
