Scotia on the weekend (if we make it)?

Good morning to the Clan and hope you are looking forward to the Charity Mile and Breeders Cup weekend but with the current state of the planet, every weekend is a bonus at this stage.

Between the terrible weather conditions in the States, the current labour issues in SA the future looks gloomy and especially for our 20 year old dog "Toffee" who is on "The Green Mile" she is a bit under pressure as being deaf, blind and now enjoys doing the business in the house and scotia has been delegated the task of doing the "humane" thing.
I am sure many humans in the same boat but that is termed as murder? Strange old planet we live in.

As far as the Hangover Sports Bar, the project is going well but trust me, if you want to know if a builder is lying to you? Just watch his lips closely and if they move, it means he is.

My partner "Georgie the Greek" had the vision of the finished product and have to say that it's starting to materialize, I have had a few inputs which we have brainstormed and feel proud to say that I have had a great experience. The agreement is that when all is done and finished that George, my son Lee and myself will not open the doors, we will just sit in the pub switch on every tv, put the juke box on with our favourite songs and drink at least a bottle of JWB and savour the moment of our dreams.

I have not much time to contribute to the forum but you may have noticed I post at 3.00 in the morning but would again like to thank Bob for doing a wonderful job and the sponsors for helping to contribute to the running costs that we and (Formgrids)., at time find it difficult to provide an adequate service.

With all the rain it's becoming more difficult for owners, trainers and jockeys to make ends meet and find races for their " investments" ( ok wrong terminology) but the love of the game and that next winner keeps us hanging in and with a bit luck Miss Diana and Budweiser Boy can give us a well needed financial injection for the Ready to Run sale .

PJ winning last years Charity Mile

Now lets look at the Charity Mile we will be at the race day and it should be a great racing and a chance to meet some royalty? Link Man 4/1 fav for the big one, the Graham Beck where The Hangman tops the boards at 5/2, the Starling; Cherry on the Top is 7/2 and might live up to the name and can Welwitschia come with a flying finish to catch the machine Valberg? Get to the big T for all the action and fun and games.

The Breeders Cup to follow into the night and weather permitting hope to watch Excelebration again frank the Frankel form lines and maybe St Nicholas Abbey can also keep the flag flying.

We must not forget that on Tuesday that the race that stops a nation will take place in the form of the Melbourne Cup, but hate to say that the horses don't live up to the hype of the social day with the usual candidates bumping against each other Americain 6/1, Dunaden 7/1 and Red Cadeaux 10/1.

Melbourne Cup the race that stops a nation.

Looking a bit further to next years Classics, the talking horses Dawn Approach and Certify are 7/2 and 8/1 for the 2000 and 1000 gns. Could be worth a strike.

Plenty fun and drama with the soccer/football > Man Utd vs Chelsea ....

Another record month on the forum with over style="color: #0000CC;">5 million hits.

During these confusing times, we have to take a deep breath and consider what Confucius says:

Man who wants pretty nurse, must be patient.

Passionate kiss, like spider web, leads to undoing of fly.

Lady who goes camping must beware of evil intent.

Squirrel who runs up woman’s' leg will not find nuts.

Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion.

Man who runs in front of car gets tired,
man who runs behind car gets exhausted.

Man who eats many prunes get good run for money.

War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left.

Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night.

It takes many nails to build a crib, but one screw to fill it.

Man who drives like hell is bound to get there.

Man who stands on toilet is high on pot.

Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.

Man who fish in other man's well often catch crabs.

A lion will not cheat on his wife, but a Tiger Wood.

Have a great weekend, good punting and may your God be with you

The advantage of having scotia as a partner is that we bought the paint yesterday and he qualified for the pensioners discount on a Wednesday hehe
