all I can say is Cape Town head on seems hardly any interference and change result what a joke - where is the consistency - the cape town decision was a bloody joke - these guys get paid for being half asleep - if I did my job like this I would be fired long ago

Don't mean to be selfish but think of me (no sympathy required lol) ... I was on Royal Bencher and I stood to bring up a very nice 4 timer with Cape Royal... people don't seem to believe me when I say that I lose out on over 90% of these (serious) reviews... if there is a review and I'm involved you really need to hope to be on the other horse!!! :( I have said it before and I will say it again... look how many times the more fancied horse gets the decision. I don't think it is a coincidence that I (am perhaps known to often) back a horse at a price and I lose out on these close call reviews. The market in this case was very close but there had been some heavy support for the eventual winner. Is there any skulduggery going on... probably not (but I do have to add a :S ), but I do think it very likely the stipes are being influenced by factors, either consciously or subconsciously, that should not be involved in their decision making. This does not include cases where reviews are announced and it is immediately obvious there will be no further action, I think everyone knows the difference to which I refer. As with many things in SA racing it is about consistency, getting it right and professionalism and yet again I have to be honest and say the stipes imo don't tick all those boxes. The real question to me is... why not? Its not that difficult to have a set of rules and stick to them, other countries don't seem to have this problem, indeed I think punters in the UK know the result in 99% of cases as soon as a review is called... because the rules are clear. In SA we are often just left sweating on the opinion of the particular stipes on any given day. Its just not right.
