They are still running on the winter course with a short straight for the Green Point , so you have to think that VC will be tough to beat & Jackson will be doing his best work late much like the recent race. The race of the season imo will be the Queens Plate which is over the mile but on the new course with a 600m straight.

If they go a good clip which they usually do in the QP , I believe Jackson could beat VC over the mile. VC was beaten last season in the QP by another good 3ry old Gimmethegreenlight now a sire.

Just nice to have these TOP Horses racing again in the Cape , Cape Summer Sizzling Season is Truly underway....

Best miler in the country by far is VC..he is untouchable imo. But...If he does fluff his lines..Jackson will be right there

Isn't a mile kind of short for Jackson?

Off a sedate pace or the usual Cape Crawl yes. If they go a real good pace then he should be able to get within a length or so of Variety Club......

Still like yours as the spook.

@Western Explorer

Nah,no tongue in cheek.
best wishes to WCRacing .Competition is good.

prior to ChangingOfTheGuards last win,he trainer said he will be a serious contender in the upcoming feature races.
King of pain was bruted to be unbeatable that day, and although some claim poor riding,CoTG's win was full of merit.

I will put my head on the block here and say ChangingoftheGuard will not beat King of Pain over the 1600m
