Bookies.co.za website
12 years 9 months ago
Why don't they charge a subscriber fee for those of us who would like to access the site? It's not like we trying to hack into their bank accounts, for goodness sake! I would be prepared to pay a subscription fee because i found the site "informative".
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The problem is that certain bookmakers were using the website instead of paying their BODS (dissemination) fees.
That, coupled with the fact that bucket-shops were using it also for betting changes, was the problem.
So, I don't see anything changing in the near future. The disturbing aspect of all this is that the bookmakers association never released a statement or gave punters any warning.
My suggestion is that Hollywood offer a similar service somehow, but only for their registered clients.

No, i'm not asking for a bookmaker's licence, in the not so distant past, this very site, one had to be registered/have a password to access the site.

Ruffian, what you say may be true, and if so i still dont see the point as if anyone is using the site to run a "'business""
closing the site will surely not tstop them as the information (bar claims) are readily available online.
i reallyhope that someone comes along and create another site the same as bookies ...
Also i would like to ask hibs , how did he manage to get access to the claims , as i also hear on tellytrack they they are referring to the bookies site for odds?
May be its just preferential treatment where some can and the rest ( the punters) cant!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi GB
The page that interested me the most was "last 20 changes", this just showed horses for which money was coming - the one's shortening in other words. This page updated every 15 or so seconds, on racing worldwide. Fact, any amount of money pouring on a horse doesn't necessarily mean it will win the race. Bookmakers should be hoping every man and his dog lumps on these coups, and they roll the money horse. By denying people access to information certainly can't be boosting their turn-overs? I like to think of it as advertising! I would be prepared to pay to access the site, however at a reasonable subscription.
