SUMMER CUP ENTRIES ON FORMGRIDS
12 years 6 months ago
I am interested to know how the final field will be selected - is it based on the highest rated ( merit rating ) horses and there last wins !
and the size of the field - how many horses will race and who determines the field size
As a punter you stand a better mathematical chance in a small field
Mujaarib is rated a 98 - Does the Charity Mile win mean automatic entry into Summer Cup ?

I'm not sure about how the field is chosen, etc. But I can tell you guys 1 thing. After watching yesturdays race, me thinks Smanjemanje is a serious contendor for the summer cup. At the moment hollywood is offering 10/1 for a top 4 finish and I will have some of that. He fly jumped the start and never really settled, was always racing wide and seemed keen the whole race. But once he got his mind on the game, was a fast finishing 5th me thinks. Even though I did my tom on him yday. Had a few hundred fixed places on him. Me thinks he will recoup my cash back come summercup day

The summer cup promo team.....
ps there was 20 runners last year ,and three runner had rating of 96,the year before 18 runners and i`m sur all horses where rated in the 100`s
when rudra won the race in 2008 there were 18 runners and 9 horses below 100 got a run..
There was only 15 runners when Aslan won in 2009 the highest rated horse was buy and sell on 111,who runs of 90 odd tomorrow un Richard Hughes and has been claimed...

Good question Apache. Looking at the list Titch posted on the other thread Mujaarib and Astro News are joint 28th with their merit rating. Do a panel select the final field or is it according to merit rating?
