The Lengths at which Horse Chestnut won, will always make him the best for me.

Historic Lady beat Royal Jest and Igreja. Benny Norton would have been a great jockey had he not past away tragically. Igreja stable later in the 3yo career Resfa was tops.

Few will believe but Ruby Clipper 1st outing was in Zimbabwe. If im not mistaken Ruby Clipper broke the course record that day.

Yip, Ruby was bread and owned (I believe) in Zimbabwe. She was (believed by some corners) very close in ability to Ipi Tombi but was an entirely different type, very speedy and was never going to go further than perhaps 7 furlongs max.

Perhaps Ruby can help us out with the owners and a bit more background about that spectacular dark bay filly.

Thanks for posting, Naresh, brings back many memories of horses too many to mention but all contributed to making an everlasting impression of horse-racing in S.A.
