Summer cup where are all the press releases?

Not a single press release this week, not a piece of online marketing...
piss poor show this year..
By this time if GC ran the show we would have had trainer comments from every single connection...

Hell don't confuse the target market with some info that they are going to skip over anyway - rather baffle them with bullsh*t

The trainers' interviews should be provided by our world-class racing journos - imo

There strategy is to promote the food and entertainment NOT horseracing.... and only advertise in the Computaform/Tellycrap .... Preaching to the converted in other words....(

Surely there must be advertising wherever the Sansui products are sold?

Who still thinks an advert can make someone into a horse punter, raise your hands. Seriously, gambling is a learnt behavior, or appeals to someone with a gambling streak (or an innate maths skill set), or someone thick as two short planks.
What the summer cup might do, is get you to buy a bit of Sansui kit next time.

well done David Thiselton and GC
Mike de Kock will hold the trump cards in most of the features at the big Sansui Summer Cup meeting at Turffontein on Saturday, although ante-post punters might have a tough time deciding which one of his runners to back.
In the big one the four-year-old Australian-bred Mujaarib, who is unbeaten in four starts, is the worthy favourite and as a progressive sort, looks to be the one to side with.
He is quite speedily bred, but the way he runs would suggest he is crying out for the 2000m of the Summer Cup.
In his last start in the Grade 2 Peermont Emperor’s Palace Charity Mile he had to be rousted virtually throughout just to be kept in the race by Glen Hatt and then ran on strongly to get up, albeit with a light weight of 52kg.
He was more comfortable in the running in his previous start over 1800m, his seasonal reappearance, albeit in a lower grade, and was able to easily repel the challengers from his handy position.
He has a fair draw of eight on Saturday with Hatt aboard and will again have a handy galloping weight of 53,5kg.
Silver Flyer had to be eased late in the Charity Mile after running on well and will be 2kg better off with Mujaarib for a two length beating.
That was his second run after a rest, so he should be at his peak and must have a big chance with Kevin Shea aboard, despite having to overcome a wide draw of 15.
He stayed on strongly in testing going when finishing a narrow third in the SA Classic over 1800m last season, so should also relish the 2000m trip.
Vettel set the pace in the Grade 2 Victory Moon Stakes over 1800m, which was run in course record time, and stayed on for a 5,75 length fourth after looking likely to be swamped.
That was his seasonal reappearance, so he should have benefitted from the run, and he will appreciate the step up in trip.
He will be 4kg better off with Victory Moon winner Zambucca and 4,5kg better off with the short-head runner up Astro News.
Ilha Bela looked to need her first two runs of the season, the latest when downfield in the Victory Moon, as she turned it on well in the straight both times but couldn’t sustain it.
She has been lowered four points in total and will enjoy the trip, although her wide draw of 19 is not ideal.
Ilsanpietro has proved that he is more than just a stayer and was content to sit one wide in the lead pack from a wide draw in the Victory Moon before staying on for fifth.
He is likely to be up handy again from draw 20 and as he will appreciate the step up in trip, it would be no surprise to see him staying on into the money.
Empenosa Henn didn’t have the clearest run in a Listed race over 1600m in February when fourth to Seal, but then stayed on strongly late, so is interesting over this trip, which he has run over before when 3,25 lengths behind The Apache in the Daily News 2000 last year.
However, he is quite high in the handicap and his last three runs have been on sand.
He is another with a wide draw to overcome.
Silent Partner will be 0,5kg under sufferance and doesn’t look quite in this class.
De Kock has three runners in the Grade 2 Ipi Tombe Challenge over 1600m, Rumya, Festival Of Fire and Amur Affiar, but the participation of the former pair might depend on the draws they get in the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas, which are to be announced today (Thursday).
The Avontuur Grade 1 event is only a week after the Ipi Tombe, so De Kock might run them in either one race or the other.
The unbeaten Grade 1 winner Rumya has been priced up as the 12-10 favourite by Betting World in the Ipi Tombe, as she probably needed her last run when just getting up over a too sharp 1400m, but on form lines Festival Of Fire has her measure and is much better value at 5-1.
Amur Affair is held by both of them.
De Kock has two runners in a below standard Dingaans field, Trippi colt Desert Sheik and Right Approach colt Emerald Approach.
Desert Sheik looked a classy sort when slow away before running on to win over 1160m last time, a race in which his speed surprised Anton Marcus.
As he has won twice up to 1450m, he could be a classic prospect, and will give the Sean Tarry-trained favourite The Hangman something to think about.
Emerald Approach sauntered through to win over course and distance last time and should have further improvement in him, although the form is open to question.
Tayba makes most appeal of De Kock’s Grade 3 Fillies Mile trio and looks good value at 12-1, as she ran on strongly from last when 4,5 lengths behind Festival Of Fire in the Grade 3 Starling Stakes, passing Al Kindi in the process.
Al Kindi, who is a 6-1 shot, also has a good turn of foot.
She is 2kg better off with Tayba, will appreciate the step up in trip and Anthony Delpech rides.
Aneefa is quoted at 8-1, probably due to the Marcus factor, as she likely needs further.
De Kock runs Link Man in the Grade 2 Merchants over 1160m and, although his overall form is in and out, he can usually be relied on to run well in Highveld turf sprints.
De Kock’s three runners in the Grade 3 Racing Association Handicap over 3200m, Atlantic Oak, Hawk’s Eye and Dunraven all have chances, although the latter, who has Delpech up, looks the most likely of them to give the favourite Kolkata a go.

I think corporates bought seats but let's see how many people actually attend
