Yip no rime or reason here seems to be. Still waiting to find out why the guy from the aurora killings did what he did.
Jeffrey Dahmer apparently did what he did because of loneliness or thats what they attributed his behavior to.......
Who knows, it is just sick, sick, sick!!!

These playstation and Xbox games don't help.
Some of these kids playing these violent games get too consumed by them.
The top producer of violent games are Rockstar, unsurprisingly they are New York based.
Parents, for an easy life or wether they are working too hard or don't care let their kids play any age games.
When I asked my son who is 11 what he wanted for he's birthday,he said Call Of Duty which is rated 18.
I said no way,and he said its a great game and that he had played it at he's friends house.

I think I may have posted this next bit on another thread I cannot remember exactly.....
There have been quite a few verifiable reports of late done in the Pacific north west, more specifically Washington State and Oregon where they have found that violent crimes as well as car theft have gone down in every state in the Union (apart from Chicago) and a reason for this was that the kids are not going out and acting out their deranged thoughts or naughty streaks (such as stealing cars for joy rides) as much as they are rather staying in and playing these video games. It is thought that the video games actually help.
Not sure if this is accurate or not but it does make at least a very small amount of sense?!?!?!?
Make of it what you will............

the kids in SA are so out of control at school and the parents blame the teachers yet they have no disipline at home. The question we need to ask is it Nature or Nurture?

Reports say the killer was a mere 20 yrs old and was an honors student. He lived with his mother in Newtown which is a prosperous New England community of about 27,000 people.
5 guns were registered in the late mother's name.(td)

I think easy has a point. America's like many other countries, it glorifies violence and makes heroes out of crooks, gangsters and killers.
SA isn't any better. Have you looked at the list of TV programs on offer on dstv the past few months? (maybe longer but I only started looking some 3-4 months ago). I know I wrote a protest on facebook a little while ago listing what was on offer at the moment of writing.. Every one of the programs on the various History and Nature channels was about violence, killing or war.
Fifteen minutes of fame ... yup. Kill a lot of people and you'll be the subject of a hundred studies and TV shows, everyone will know your name and will want to meet you.
(Just by the way i wonder who chooses what programs to buy for our TV? I presume they choose what they know people will watch. Sick?)

Something I just saw on facebook:
"Morgan Freeman's brilliant take on what happened yesterday :
"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.
It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
"CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."
