Taxi Driver get 3 years for Road Rage incident

A Bloemfontein taxi driver who attacked a pedestrian in a road rage incident in the city has been sentenced to a jail term, Volksblad reported on Friday.

Aggrey Mojanaga, 43, was sentenced in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court to three years' imprisonment during which he must stay behind bars for at least six months.

The report said Magistrate Johannes Moeng ordered that Mojanaga could be released under correctional supervision after six months if his behaviour justified it.

Mojanaga deliberately hit a homeless man, Isaac Moalahi, 51, with his taxi and then kicked him against the head in Andries Pretorius Street in March this year.

Video material of the incident, which was captured on security cameras, was broadcast all over the internet.

Mojanaga was found guilty on a charge of assault with grievous body harm.

Good, Taxi's are the biggest problem on our roads....:X

three years? Way too short- How much would I get if I just walked up to somone in the street and kicked him in the head. He basically gets 6 months!!

Wonder what happened to the grand scheme by the government to replace the mini-busses with the bigger versions. Sure there was an uproar some time ago?
