wouter, getting back to the topic on hand here, Charlie was the top trainer in the country 4 or 5 years ago when he had TOP. TOP horses from the Jooste yard. So the results were not hard to predict ! Marcus was there to assist as well.

there are a handfull of top trainers in Joburg today, who have some top stock, but sadly most of the results don't show it.

Mike de kock now rules big time, with Tarry close behind with his decent stock.

Charlie is where he is today, obviously he has a lot less horses than years gone by........ perhaps he is happier too ?

True story...in 2009 Dan De Lago finishes a fast finishing 2nd to Big City Life in the Daily News...few meters more and he wins...C Laird does not run DDL in the July because he says its not a 3rd year olds race...his stable jock rides Our Giant who is not sure to stay...BCL wins the July and 3 years olds run 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the July...OG wins a group 1 sprint three weeks later...i can only imagine how he explained this to Jooste.
