If you follow form, Surfer Girl should win in R1. But, no value @ 77c

Another is On the Road in R6. A wide draw to overcome, but with Felix up should handle it. There's been 6 runners since it's last run with 5 placings & winner.

Complete opposite to last saturday.
5 Handicaps,including Feature Race,looking very open,and potential minefields.
Juvenile Plate with next to no form.
3 Maiden Plates full of improving 3 year olds.
Best bet may be ELEGANTES in the last.

Surfer Girl looks good in Race 1 and Elegantes should go close in the last.Other than that..Taipan needs to confirm whether he has what it takes but if he fails....
Todays card is tailor made for the odd roughie or two...or three :-) sneaking through.

Jet Explorer was unlucky in the Algoa, got caught on the rail and shuffled back with all the horses quickening outside of him, so the margin between Hill54 and him flatters the latter. JE now 2,5kg better off, well drawn and this race has been his target all season.

It was strange to see Ice Machine priced up as original second favourite. His merit rating was achieved in the KZN off season and he's never been further than a mile before. Furthermore, he's had an interrupted prep.

Black Wing has finished a short-head second in a Grade 1 over this trip before and from a good draw won't have to set the pace like he did last time in the Premier's Trophy. Much better value than Ice Machine.

Lion In Winter is three points lower than when winning this race two year ago, so also looks fair value.

However, four-year-olds have won this race for the last few years,so my selection is 1) Jet Explorer 2) Hill Fifty Four 3) Hammie's Dynasty 4) Black Wing 5) Political Playboy

I like Brown Penny at the weights in the big one.

I don't like Western Jet Greggo. Mamma sprinted so not for me.
