I remember we had a lot of firsts when I was at Mansfield. Had our first rugby Springbok, Snowy Suter, beat Glenwood at rugby, head master (Newton-Parry) was so happy he gave us the day off. The cadet band won the inter schools competiton, bandmaster was McLeod (his brother played on the wing for Arsenal)

Still remember some of the teachers, Miss Graham, Marais, Ingram, Miller, Van Eysseren.

birdie mcleod`s son Ian is thecurrently the head of refereeing in South Africa.
