UAE 1000 and 2000 GUINEAS TRIAL AT MEYDAN THURSDAY
12 years 7 months ago
The stake for the winner of each of these races is USD 104,000--- as per the Attheraces site.
Our Tabonline free Tab sheet shows the stake is R 50,000---.
Are we trying to show how low they pay stakes per our Flamingo standards or is it the data-capturer who is drunk???

The total stake for each of the 2 races you mention is 50,000 dollars US but the total stake for each race from the rest of the card is 110,000 or 120,000 dollars US (Emirates racing website).

Correct
Saturday's Meydan meet is a non-carnival meeting

What they say. . .
Mike De Kock, trainer of Soft Falling Rain, El Estruendoso and Zahee
"Soft Falling Rain is a Grade 1 winner at home but has lots of questions to answer here. Can he carry that weight? Will he handle Tapeta in a race? Will he stay the trip? He has a touch of class and I am hopeful he will stay and handle Tapeta as he is out of a Giant's Causeway mare.
"El Estruendoso won his only start nicely and this is his next step in his racing career. We will find out a lot about him. All three will improve for the run, particularly Zahee who arrived a bit later."

Surely somebody at Saftote who compiles the free Tabsheet has the necessary EXPERTISE and know-how to convert AE Dirhams or USD to RANDS?
Why are we still seeing these INCORRECT stakes amounts at Meydan when other UK and AUS venues are converted to correct equivalent Rand currency amounts???
Answers from Vee or whoever because on World Cup night at Dubai, you can be certain the stake amount for the richest race in the world will be shown as R60,000---???
Watch this space!!!

Borrowdale fields still show NO stakes amounts yet they are racing for min R 75,000--- while the low Ngong stakes of R5000--- etc can be shown without fail!!!
Could we not have some consistency from the compilers of the Tabsheet or is their something that has to be hidden from the SA racing public???
