There cannot be many South African trainers with the knowledge and experience of MIKE BASS. To top this is the fact that he is one of the most humble, patient men anyone is likely to meet. It is doubtful whether he has ever been accused of being downright rude to anyone. As a racehorse trainer he is a legend and rightly so. His training ability in keeping Pocket Power sound throughout his illustrious career is a great testimony to his ability. Right now his yard could be said to be going through a quiet period by his standards, but a look at the results will show that, week after week, the winners still accrue to his stable. This Saturday, at Kenilworth, the BASS yard sends out about 9 runners and racegoers may be sure that his horses will feature in many of the finishes.
