RUMYA for the J&B Met

12 years 4 months ago
#308669
Ive just punted RUMYA for the Met this morning. I now came accross the following article stating she will not partake in the met, article published 3 days ago.

www.bdlive.co.za/sport/othersport/2013/0...ahead-of-durban-july

If this is the case, why are the bookies still offering betting on her? Does anyone know anything?

Because she has not being removed from the entries list yet...

Antepost markets mean your bet should be a loser, but i would think in this case you could be refunded...

Thanks Hibs, wonder if the bookies would have the same view. I did have a rather big punt as well. :?

In their eyes she is still a runner... and her price is relevent to the rest of the field, any idea if she has drifted in the market the last few days?

Yup - I punted her at 66/1 (drifted from 20s). Backed her to win 50k on the win and about 15 odd for the place.

Money down the drain, the way I see it. Just wish I saw this article before I punted the filly. After all, it was published 3 days ago. Wish MDK changes his mind, I'll send him a telegram :D

Isn't it a disgrace that we have to guess who won't be running in a huge Gr1 race but watching nominees drift?

Of course there will be no refund, that's a bit of a dumb comment. Same as the bet would stand if you got 100/1 about a horse that starts 5/1.

Both Variety Club and Rumya are from yards with the easiest access to the press. Variety Club's connections are interviewed about every 30 min, and while it's their full right to stay mum about their champion who was sitting right near the top of the betting boards, the poor muggs who have done their cash cold may not have warm and fuzzy feelings for the Variety club.

Still, both could still run and the 10/1 and 66/1 could be the greatest value ever...we will find out tomorrow.

Ok it is late on a Sunday so I may be wrong!! I thought Rumya was supplemented into the Met? So if she is now a non runner why would they have done that ? Does that not cost you money ? If they have now said she won't run then why did they buy in in the first place? How does this affect the punters ? Sorry I'm lost it could be the Vodka .
