I read somewhere that Manchester United goalkeeper Harry Gregg was the hero in this tragic episode.

Well posted Len (tu)
The mother was also pregnant unbeknown to Gregg at the time. I believe Gregg finally met the man he saved before he was even born around the time of the 50th anniversary of the disaster (tu)

a movie called United, which was shown about a year ago, was made about the Busby Babes. A book called The Lost Babes was done in their memory, some touching stories.
