X(P.E. Trainers

It is rather sad to see how the PE trainers are treated by the racing body(Pasirini) in regards to stables, one would imagine that local trainers would get first option on what comes availble then assistance trainers that wish to train and only then would you go for the satilite yards, but in this centre its about who you connected to and not the best interest of the local trainers.
Some time ago Byron was training for the Millers/ Jooste and applied for his trainers licence but nothing came of that so he left and the position was advertised and Laing got the position, became a trainer and was awarded stable to which other trainers objected to which Passirini informed them that there was a waiting list that they work from (waiting list that by the way no trainer has ever seen). One could argue that a partnership was formed between Jooste/Miller and the sad passing of Miller father and son that left Jooste with no option but to get Laing to take over the yard plus she has been a PE girl for years. But when we start giving the likes of Bass satilite yards over local trainers that do not have enough boxes to sustain them and then say that this would bring value to PE racing.
As many people know that Cape Town is one of our feeder centres and that if one goes back in the race book you will see that Bass racing has sent many a horses to our local trainers, now this will no longer happen in fact he will be competing for the very stake cheques. Whats more upsetting is the fact that not only do our local trainers loose the boxes but loose the horses.
Wish our local trainers would unite and say no more.

I believe that the issue must be adressed very urgently because this pollytrack that they are building is the end of Kimberly racing as most of the feeder horses to those trainer will stop

The waiting list is available to trainers if they ask.
Also the stables have been offered to the local trainer who is top of the list twice and they were declined.
Not saying that the waiting list is the right way, opinions are divided, but that's the way it has been for a long time and all PE based trainers are aware of it.
If only all local trainers WOULD unite and speak as one group.....

Thank you Shams for the feedback, why not try and get the trainers to stand together. Trust me this will not be a easy task and the racing body know how divided the trainers are and this is why they continue with this strong arm tactics they use.

I don't understand this. Surely the idea is to have many participants and many people competing? Isn't that the way to health? Or should the last trainer to open up in PE shut the door firmly behind him/her? When you want to be a trainer, then the closed door policy looks grim but once you through the door can't close it quick enough?
When you block new participants into any environment, the old guard get complacent and the game deteriorates. While the threat of new business is there, a market stays sharp and competitive which is good for the customer. If we discussing who can be a trainer in PE, then the customer becomes the operator, the owner and the punter, and trainer competition must be good for the customer.
Stand together, form a monopoly with the help of the operator, prepare to die out like your cousins in Kzn. The very worst thing that could happen in Kzn, is that the trainers hijacked the system. Just sit back and watch while the rot sets in one increment at a time.

Some PE trainers (and i wont mention if they are named on this thread) are in the shit and maybe getting deeper in the shit is not a good thing?
