Apprentice Claims

Hi

Could somebody explain how the apprentice claims work for the weights? Does the weight that reflect on the race card already has the deduction or not? and what type of races do they apply for (Handicaps, maiden plates etc).

The weight in the current racecard reflects the weight the horse is carded to carry IRRESPECTIVE of the jockey.
Some FORMguides show past races with the weight reflecting WHAT WAS ACTUALLY CARRIED in the race and not what was carded to carry. (apprentice allowance if applicable taken into account)
As regards which races it applies it is my understanding that it applies to all races with the exception of most feature races where it is specifically stated Apprentice Allowance MAY NOT be claimed.
