Thanks to Winning Post for the extensive preview; due to other engagements (kids
), just some short notes on the features - this early in the morning I'm not sure abt the going, but assume it's going to be on the soft side:
R5: Very open handicap, where not much separates Louvre, Demanding Lady, Kalami, and Amur Affair on form, so all of thise need to be considered along with Blueroute who looks the elect from the de Kock stable - one that could upset at the weights imo (if it does not get wet) is Filly Bushwacker
R6: Plated race so it should be easy - but nothing stands out imo. Festival of Fire 3.5 kg's out with Link Man, Castlethorpe and Whiteline Fever, but looks best this trip and must have a chance; Whiteline Fever has won twice over the 1400, so must be considered along with Snowdon, who also looks well in here; Link Man tries blinkers, so anything possible.
R7: Espumanti has done nothing wrong and should prove hard to beat from Cherry on the Top (pity about that draw, otherwise I think she would have given Espumanti a lot more cheek)
R8: Not as straight forward as the Fillies Guineas, another race where the draw is going to play a huge part in the outcome; if drawn better, War Horse would have been my clear first choice after a very good run against older horses last time; still not without a chance, obvious chances to Love Struck (if he can handle the higher altitude), Fantastic Mr Fox (also drawn wide) and Francois Bernardus (some stamina doubts) and Alexandra Palace (better further?) ; best value imo Switt and Strong
R9: Rocco's Luck, S'il Vous Plait, Yer-Maan and Go Gold my top 4 in another open handicap
Enjoy (tu)

Thanks to Winning Post for such an in depth analysis....Guys on big race race days from my personal experience is that most of the times favorites go missing for no apparent reasons , so I would be cautious playing win doubles and trebles...my advice is to take a nice PA and then take place doubles race by race...by doing that you can gauge market support and see horses going down etc.
with so many possible outcomes to consider to day , I am going to stick with a nice PA and include the following for place value :
race 3 - Stroke one - nice run last time over 1600m and with David on board should apprecite the step down in trip
race 4 - Irish Flyer - decent post maiden , 4kg claim and now down to the minimum trip should be quite pacy
race 5 - Cyclone Michelle - good recent form , light weight and very good 4th to Cherry on the top 2 runs back over 1600m...nice value IMO
race 6 - Castlethorpe 110MR - surely did not come up for the scenery and with Stryker on board, 1400m should be just what the doctor ordered
race 7- Fire wheel - last good run behind top sort and also the fact that it has good form will give it a very good place chance.
race 8 - Swift and Strong - IMO was very unlucky last run not to complete the treble , should be sharper for that loss today.
race 9 - Masai Warrior - this horse IMO has potential and with Lerena aboard will be given a good ride over today's extra distance.
Bring home the bacon guys...

Here is some of my longshots for today (
)
Rc5 # 5 PACIFIC DYNASTY 25/1 - 13/5 Juglall and perd do well together
Rc6 # 3 CASTLETHORPE (AUS) 10/1 - 13/5 Cape raider with SS up for Bass
Rc7 # 10 TAYBA 16/1 - 19/10 WWinter for Sheikh :
Rc8 # 6 EMERALD APPROACH 20/1 - 15/4 for the golfer
-
Goodluck punters, looks like the bookers are again going to clean-up AGAIN
Those with runners best of luck.

Win double...
R2 4 Dark Ages
R10 5 Eternity
add R1 14 Stifler for treble
(NB although I have included R's 1 and 2, be weary of market moves)
Pipe Smoker E/W double...
R8 11 Alexandra Palace
R9 10 Brooks-Club
add R4 12 Lecture Club for patent
Semi-idiots e/w double...
R5 12 Formation
R6 3 Castlethorpe
adding for small doubles and e/w trebles and up...
R2 8 Sir Swarovski
R8 9 Zestful
R9 2 Soul Master
Great write-up WP, much appreciated, especially as I know how time-consuming it can be. Think clanners owe you a beer or two for that effort (tu) and thanks as always to Frodo and SK for their contributions (tu)
Be(s)t of luck to all (tu)
