Place treble

Marvellous Captain + Power Jet + Night Embers = 45/1

Eagle Face + Power Jet + Night Embers = 12/1

Some thoughts:

R2: Lockheed Jetstar the obvious one, but taking odds-on in a handicap not for; Delpech her for 4 rides for the de Kock stable, so hard to tell which horse made him come to the Vaal on a Thursday afternoon - perhaps Captain Lars? Selbourne Supremacy not to be ignored here imo

R3: Not an easy start to the PA - blinkers on Ruby Chimes could do the trick, but I'd rather go wide and also include Attract the Crowd (less than 2 lengths behind Ruby Chimes last time and finding her feet in Gauteng), Warrior's Passion and Forever After

R4: Very thin race where my preference is for Matchless Flag from Ushokoleti (better shorter?) and Glitter Alley (met a very weak field in her first tun imo)

R5: Rebel Queen ceratinly in top form, but has been very busy lately, so I think Antigua is the safer option with Penny Fare for the PA - I can't really find anything else in the race.

R6: Getting more difficult imo as we go along, but Song of Camden and Memeza should be good ebough for the PA, others to consider Gemmayze Street (won well last time) and Cohiba (running thereabouts); Eagle Face tries the 1200 and runs like he could prefer this trip, so is another to consider - Distinctly has not run well yet at this track.

R7: Strongmind has an obvious chance again, but has not gone up in MR and while probably good enough for the PA, is beatable here imo; I think Lost Island is his main danger, but I would also include some roughies in the P6: Made of Magic (MR dropping steadily), Kashan, Danesco (Fradd? ), Shimmering Jet (beat Tellina in his first start), Make My Majesty (needed last run after being gelded) and even Jolly Good Sir (tries blinkers) all look well handicapped imo

R8: Electric Jet rather easy to back, but imo does not have to 100% to beat this field - he certainly won his debut like a good horse (even though maybe not beating much) - if he fluffs his lines, there are quite a few waiting in the wings - Kapellmeister, Night Embers, Amatol, Vitruvian Man, National Bounty, Paintyourface, Dichotoma and Saratoga Magic all in with chances imo if EJ fails

R9: Not much between Handsome Dancer and Tiger Dee on their last runs, and although TD may improve, I'm not convinced abt the strength of that field, so I also give a chance to Gallipoli, who runs like he should prefer the 1000

Enjoy (tu)
