The punters in totes........

I was in the tote a few days ago and noticed the following.......

I was putting my exotic bets together and on Tellytrack comes on the promo with Horse Chestnut........the commentary for the Horse Chestnut Derby race comes on (i think it was Clyde Basel commentating) and i get chills all over my body!!

I look around to see if anyone else in the tote is experiencing the same as me..............the answer is NO!!!! The tote isn't full, but there were about 12 people in the tote. Everyone was looking down and looking at completing their exotics. NOBODY was even looking at the tv.......not 1 person, cos i even double checked!!

I was extremely surprised.....so my question is..........are everyone sitting in the totes just there to make a few rand or are there people out there in the totes that is passionate, love horses and love champions?

What planet are u living on Peekay ? Who gives a shit about the HORSE in SA racing ????????

I am also in it to make a few bucks, but i definitely love horses and not ONLY in it to make a few pennies

the ones who hang around the totes are mainly the R6-00 swinger types, so I doubt there would be hours of speculation...
all the serious / top punters have online accounts etc, who try to learn as much as possible about the game...
and would make the occasional trip to the tote for some arb reason

Horse Chestnut is in the past boss, let the breeders get excited about that.

A WOS Outlet oppened in my tote recently and daily most of the punters are at their window playing the lucky numbers...4 years I'm going to the same place and except for big race day's when the place is packed, I'm seeing new faces every week queing at the bookie.

If those punters sit in the tote day in and day out, they have probably seen and heard the add 20 times before.

Perhaps to sum it up and to make my final comment on this thread..........i hear all your comments regarding this and agree with them.......

I am passionate about horses, horse racing and horse betting (making some bucks when i am lucky)..................most other people (including the punters in the tote) are passionate about making money ONLY.
