"Group" RESULTS - 'Saturday' Afternoon 16th February Workings..
17 years 3 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 2.06 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave.....
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.1, and with drifting to around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 3.1. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, and so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was nicely beaten and so a good result......
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.35 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage after mails were sent, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran OK considering his jumping errors, but was still beaten and so the drift justified and one that got away in hindsight.....
The 4th runner we wanted 2.0, and with drifting to around 2.48 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and slightly beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay went and won a battling close finish, so frustrating but the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.............
The 5th runner we wanted 2.1, but the time we got their the race was off and the price was around 2.5, so we had to leave the race alone and move to the next runner. This runner went and won, so a good leave........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to around 3.2 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 3.0. The price then shot back the other way and out to our own price of 3.3 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten after a battling finish, so heart attack, but a good result......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.2, and with getting that and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay went and won, so another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back pries in running, so got away with it......
The 8th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 3.95 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so one that got away in hindsight.......
The 9th runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.37 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a good leave.......
The 10th runner we wanted 1.8, but a non runner and 7.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.74. There was then another non runner and further 7.6% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.68. The price had drifted to around 1.9 on arrival and only getting bigger, we had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though......
The 11th runner we wanted 2.8, and with getting around 2.7 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.7. The lay was beaten and so a good result........
The 12th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.53 on arrival, we had a lay at around 1.53. The lay went and won well in the end, so the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 13th runner we wanted 2.0, and with drifting to around 2.34 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a good leave........
The 14th runner we wanted 2.2, and with getting around 2.04 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.04. The lay was nicely beaten and so a good result.......
The 15th runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.89 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well enough, so another good leave.......
The 16th runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.96 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift jusified and one that got away in hindsight......
The 17th runner we wanted 2.94, and with drifting to around 2.96 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.94 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result.....
The 18th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 3.1 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see anywhere near our lay price again, so had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.......
The 19th runner we wanted 2.6, and with getting around 2.58 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.58. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 20th and final runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.66 on arrival, we had a lay at around 1.66. The lay went and won without too much fuss, so another winner and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...................(3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - 4 from the first 7 (57%) went and won - 7 from the first 13 (54%) went and won - 8 from the first 15 (53%) went and won - and 11 from the 20 (55%) in total - so we did a very good job considering all those winners. Well played guys...)
'Rolling' strategists (no 'free' lays for them) won 0.5 of a target..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then went to their 5th lay (the 11th runner) to hit their targets..............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 12th runner, and on their 4th and final lay (the 20th runner) they had to concede 0.5 of a target, so end the day winning 0.5 of a target and that's a good effort..
Strategy/target players (bank builders) started with a 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that bought a tiny profit.............They then had their 1st lay (the 4th runner) at 2.0 max, but a poor result see them go behind.........They then had another 'free' lay (the 6th runner) that bought a tiny profit.......They then had their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 2.2 max, but another poor result see them go further behind.......They then had their 3rd lay (the 11th runner) at 2.7, and a good result see them win a chunk back............They then had their 4th lay (the 12th runner) at 1.53, but a poor result see them go a little more behind, and it meant 4 runner builders end with conceding 1.3 targets.....
5 runner builders went looking for their next lay, and it came on the 14th runner at 2.04, and a good result see them end level...

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so they played a very good game, and well played guys...
So what a tough day that was with all those winners. Builders did ok considering they had a warning before hand, so 'if' they bothered to play then they'd have broke level or conceded a little bit, so a decent effort with those winners. Rollers won half a target, and that was a very good effort and well played guys.. Speak soon with this evening's workings.....
Marc.
