Bert Abercrombie also trained but he was a much better jockey than a trainer...however surely we can have an opinion without been slated for it???

he is not the only one titch. what about rhys van wyk? jeff freeman? paul reeves?

does coco build house better than ride horses?

GVZ was a good jockey, for me a better jockey than what he has done as a trainer till now.

easy it is not easy under stand who and what coco has to do with this. what ever. what i will say is i am prepared to take the bet that van zyl will train more winners than he rode, will train bigger winners of races than what he won on as a jockey.

that bet is lobsided as a trainer he will probably have a longer career. Gavin was also out of racing as a jockey for a few years if i recall. BUT i also know that when Paulo was his agent Gavin rode many winners and was actually called on for by top trainers in Transvaal. I mention coco because his riding style was also very "untoward" much like pots and pans was.

I dont have the facts of what top races he won but he rode special preview if i am not mistaken??
