TAB is commingling Win, Place, Swinger, Exacta and Trifecta pools with the
UK tote on all races with 20 runners or less at this week’s Cheltenham
Festival.
As usual in races with more than 20 runners, TAB will operate local pools
and horses with saddlecloth 20 and higher will be bracketed as No 20.
But TAB customers must note that as a result of a glitch in the UK tote
betting system, should No 20 be scratched from any race with more than 20
runners, it will not be possible for TAB to commingle with the UK tote for
the rest of the race meeting.
The problem emerged just before the Cheltenham Festival and,
understandably, the UK tote did not attempt to resolve it just before the
start of the biggest multi-day event in jump racing. The problem will be
rectified once the Festival is over.
