I rode for Mr Goodman at one time as an appie and yes he is a hard man BUT
Also very fair.If you work you get rewarded full stop.
Todays appies at fairview are too good for the game
The "ridding master" here let's them get away wit murder

It's like I said in the workriders post....too little passion for the game...too many people don't want to pay the ferryman....

The appies are a huge problem. Some need a good suspension from riding in races to get their minds right.(6 of the best would have been far better!). Last Monday morning when the bus arrived at the track at 5am, 1 got out and came to me, 5 went to wait for Alistair Gordon(his horses were just arriving and still had to trot) and 6 sat in the bus playing on their cell phones, talking sh1t and sleeping! They think that this game owes them a living and a trainer must give them a ride before they will go and ride work for him! Obviously there are exceptions but the worst offenders are the 3rd-5th years.:X

I would love to know who are the guys with the good attitudes and those with the bad (BTW I'm not asking you to post).....I would rather have a guy with a trying attitude be on my fancy.....

its easy to see guys with good attitudes and those with bad
1: look at the log
2: look at the ammount of rides a guy has
then factor in ability (or luck as some call it)
I agree with craig eudey, when i was an agent many jockeys never had agents and id their own rides but some used to saunter into scratchings and could not be pbothered if they got 3 rides or 7 rides. I also used to go to work in the mornings with rene (sometimes) and not every single guy rides work and MOST migrate to what they perceive are the bigger stables.

i remember charlie van booma (under tonys guide) in 1 season riding over 1300 horses. he rode everything with 4 legs and some with 3 legs. the next season he was starting to be recongnised but sadly had his accident.
