You have a valid point why not ask Craig to get answer from Gold Circle,
Call the tote manager at P office and ask i would love to know the answer.
Maybe some problems cheating but i think not.
They can look up all history of tickets struck and cancelled in that race.
Please call and advise

Tote agents work on commission, when a horse bolts some agents take big bets on the horse hoping it gets scratched, once scratched the agent then processes the ticket as a payout after the race is run and all clear isgiven, so the commisssion on the bet is still paid as after the all clear you cannot process the ticket as a cancellation

I worked in totes and I have seen this done many times

Frodo i am not the operator hence not got all answers.
Why not invite Graeme Hawkins as a guest on ABC to answer all these questions and also invite Vee And Clyde Basel From P
Cancelling tickets on ther runners will change dividends on other horses.
If you cancel tickets on the favourite the fav price will lengthen all else will shorten.

But other than that the operators do a good job.
We have racing watched by the world bet on by the world
Great horses
We need bring in the rule i said before 5 year old maidens need go PE or Kimberly or vaal sand and that will strenthen racing in Natal.
Stakes in the Cape are a joke

Give a recomendation.
How do you suggest to combat that problem if you were in there shoes.
The gc p group.
Its not easy running a tote operation.

I think the systems are out dated and new software needs introducing.
Also think bookmakers should contribute 1 % of turnover to the stakes pot to help racing.

GC should not be allowed to operate betting shops if others cant get tote license.

You all were against that lady BEE Phindi but she stood up to be counted.

Really competition would change the Operators mindset.
To much monoply in racing.
ONE THING THE OPERATORS DO IS PUT ON 2 OF THE GREATEST RACE DAYS IN THE WORLD

The MET and JULY are world class events staged on a world wide level.
The Met could be the greatest raceday in the world.

One problem Kenilworth needs a facelift in the furniture and tv departments
Catering not to good either.

In todays times who goes to a tote in Gauteng they are outsourced.
Betting World shops are in good condition.
Today punters sit at home punt on tel or computer and watch teletrack.
The tattersalls are dead. in Gauteng
