My dads had two a year apart,he could hardly walk before his ops,his legs would swell up every day and would find it hard going up stairs and all that..
Now he is digging up the garden ,going for walks and no problems with swollen legs etc..
He says his legs are still sore but least now he can get on with day to day activities.
My dad says official line is 18 months and its fully recovered, but he says after 3 months you will be tap dancing..

Moose I can just advise you to be patient as these operations are extremely costly and if you do not follow the recovery programme as prescribed ,you could do yourself more harm than anything else.I had a hip replacement 3 years ago and till today do not put any weight unnecessarily onto that leg(carrying heavy objects, grocery parcels(much to the wife's anger) etc. Ater 3 months you should be able to move much easier but rest as much as you possibly can .STERKTE!!!!!

Also depends on your age... if you a geriatric your heart may fail before your knee is healed.... I hope this helps !!
