Are there any clanners out there who have travelled by road to Botswana ?
I need to know what the best border crossing is and if there is accomodation on the SA side as I would like to be at the border post at first light...

The best border to cross is Tlokweng,because it is only a 20 minute drive to Gaborone Centre.
Unless something has been built in the last 3-4 years there is nothing on the SA side of the Border.
Best bet is to stop over in Zeerust and have a 40 min drive to the border in the morning.
Very good roads from Zeerust to Tlokweng.
Joburg to Tlokweng is only 2.5 hours.

Coming up from Durban and heading to Nata in northern Botswana. Thinking of crossing at Groblersbrug on the N11 as it makes the rest of the trip less long...

@robm.
Maybe late with info but keep to speed limits in Botswana especially if you enter towns or small villiges. If you get a fine you must pay on the spot. Traffic accept SA rands.Enjoy your stay. Returned from Kavango Delta yesterday. Heaven man!!!! O,remember precaution for malaria.
