Race 1; 13.30 -Pecadillo, Race 2; 14.05 Carrier Pigeon, Race 3; 14.45 - Nil, Race 4; Platinum Moon, Macchiato, Boost My Ego, Race 5; 15.55 Castle Hill, Bobby Soxer, Forty One, Detective Casey, Race 6; 16.35 Janey, Stroller, Race 7; 17.15 - Nil.

Macchiato and Platinum Moon prep in the MR 85 - 1800 for the $ 50 000 Castle Tankard on 4 May. Randal Simons is back in town for us.

BUT the Mashonaland Turf Club knows better then famed Italian Breeder, Frederico Tesio. Not only have they abandoned this signature race, third and final 2400 metre leg of our Triple Crown, but they have defied their own rules by replacing it with the TOTE QUICK MIX MAIDEN PLATE over 1700 metres!

Six horses were nominated for the Derby - surely this would have been a better conclusion to our Triple Crown, than an eight horse maiden?

I have reflected on this decision for a week now but I remain confused ! As Zimbabwe's Champion trainer for the past 8 years and a staunch supporter of the industry for thirty years, can someone please tell me: Am I naive or just plain stupid?

Derby replaced by Quick-mix Maiden Plate..............could I guess that the stake is a LOT lower?.............lol

Who manages Borrowdale racing?..........is it purely local or do they get help?
