Thanks to all. We did sell her to Meryl, David and Terrence for R10k. Establishing Midlands Thoroughbreds as breeders and not just a racing stable required us to put every horse we breed up for sale, those we don't sell we will race. David (Foster) offered me R10k for her after we did not receive a bid at last year's KZN yearling sale so true to our word we sold her. This win is worth 100x that in promotional value.

So far we have produced 26 foals including; Castanelli, Filly Bushwacker 3rd G3 Yellowood Handicap, Detzkey's Darling,Double Date winner of the Zim Champion Fillies Stakes L. and today's winner of the SA Fillies Nursery G2, VIRGO'S BABE.

We cannot afford to send our mares to the most commercial stallions so we concentrate very hard on genetic crosses and our strike rate for stakes placed and winners is proving that this may pay off.

I was just wondering - If the winner of todays race had been bred by Summerhill, Wilgerbosdrift or Klavervlei would Stan Ellie have completely ignored Mick Goss, Mary Slack of John Koster patiently waiting to be interviewed as the breeder?

Anyway I don't want to be that guy that moans so we will take this victory and press on doing what we do because we love it. Hope to meet some of you clanners at this years KZN sale. Lets syndicate a Midlands Thoroughbreds bred !

good luck to all connections it is good to see a "nobody" trainer beet all the big boys the only bad thing is like last year chance are that horse will move or be sell be cause people think the horse get better in a big yard. i hope the owner keep the horse where it belong

I did not see any interview, but a disgrace if Midlands as the breeders were ignored Congrats again -D
