Congratulations on your award last night.
Wouldn't it have been nice to mention that you never would have had the horse if Mr Lenny Taylor did not select the horse for you on your behalf and also negotiated the price and deal with Midlands.
we are all glad for you but sometimes it is good to also remember the persons behind the scenes for their contributions.

Lenny Taylor is one of the true horseman's of his time, his knowledge is vast and over the years he has selected and broken in a lot of good horses
here is a few examples, he schooled and broke in a few horses for Tyrone Zackey like American Gangsta who won first time out, President Elect x8 time winner, selected on the yearling sales and broken in by him , Russian Artist x4 time winner, Swing Away with whom a big coup was won when the horse won it;s sand debut on the Vaal

He has also advised Mr. Tony Rivilland on some purchases in the past, he bought a horse Great Sovereign who won first time out for Mr. Rivilland and was then sold at a big price.He also spelled a horse called The money is Yours, won a very good maiden and was then sold to Mauritius where he has won a few races.
he also spelled some horses for Chris Saunders and lately for Mr. Roy Moodley, as a matter of fact he and his wife Marie,treated Royal Zulu Warrior for 6 months to heal him from his injuries..

They also at one stage treated and cured a horse called I'm Molly who won 2 races in the Cape afterwards.
there are many more horses they were associated in the past, aforementioned is just a few

Marie specializes in curing injured horses, any horse not just thoroughbreds

So if you need advice on purchasing a horse or have a horse that is severely injured why not give Leniie and Marie a chance?

yes i have not posted for a while, on 20 Sept 2012 My wife walked out on me, could not handle my gambling and a few other things but mainly my gambling was the problem.
for 40 years i was a compulsive gambler would win big and then could not stop and loses all again and more.

the day she walked out I stopped gambling,after 40 years I stopped gambling and have not place a bet again since Sept, I promised my kids and the new love in my life that I will never gamble again. So i was not watching and playing for a long time but started watching now and again lately and took 4 entries in the CTC but not placing any bets,
It is strange to watch with out betting but if i see horses winning which i would not have selected to win then I am glad I am not punting anymore,
I must admit I also grew tired of deciding which bets to place.and my days are longer and I can do more as my days are not all planned around at what time the first races is starting.

I'm glad to hear that you've turned it around....I also no longer punt....but I like to chirp and try and pick a winner....cost free....

After your going public regarding the owners of Virgo's Babe, I feel compelled to respond to a few of the points that you have made,namely :

At the awards, both Meryl and Terrance were advised by some prominent trainers that the RA Awards was about receiving the trophys, not about speeches. As it turns out, (I know, cos I watched the awards on the internet on Sunday evening) the only award winners that made speeches were "champion trainer,jockey, apprentice and work rider. You have been granted adequate recognition both in the winners circle, as well as on social media platforms !

You DID NOT negotiate the purchase price of the filly - read Orange post of 27 April 2013. The price was R 10 000, set by the breeder.

At the KZN yearling sales 2012 we looked at three yearlings, I excluded one, and made a choice between the two remaining horses. MY choice was Virgo's Babe !

One month after we took possession of Virgo's Babe you laughed at me and told me that a certain trainer who purchased the other horse , a colt had made a better , more informed purchase decision than I had. That was about nine months ago. today you are whining about not being recognised - hahaaaaa

You have to date not been with out financial ex gratia RECOGNITION for your part in our acquisition of this filly.

My thanks to Meryl and Terrance, who supported me in the purchase of this filly. And it goes with out saying that Midlands Thoroughbreds deserve recognition for breeding our filly.

Above all, David Nieuwenhuizen and Nicky, and their obviously very talented staff, take top honours for turning our " small, immature, crooked legged filly" your words LT, into what she has become today

Sorry to disappoint you I am not Lennie Taylor and I never assisted you in purchasing the horse
I got a version from Mr Taylor who is a friend of mine that differs from your version
I did not mean that you had to make a speech but after the big win I did not hear or see any mention of his assistance but if you say that you did it is fine I did not see it and then I apologize, would appreciate it if you could guide me towards it so that I can see for myself..
o yes I spoke to Mr Taylor and he is adamant that he approached Midlands first to negotiate on your behalf
but again I do not want to get in a mud sling match here about it, so let it be the truth is you approached him and he assisted you in some ways.

I really wish that you have fun with the horse because it is all of our owners dream to buy a horse for R10 000 and win millions

To our Trainer David Nieuwenhuizen, Assistant Trainer Nicky Radford, our jockey MJ Odendaal, grooms and workriders...and ofcourse Virgo's Babe....YOU GUY'S HAVE DONE ALL THE HARD WORK...and in my opinion deserve ALL THE GLORY.

YAY, Go David ..... big big happy for the man !! Spoke to him at Turffies last year and he told me he had a couple of decent juveniles in his yard. I remember thinking to myself about that old chestnut 'no trainer will ever commit suicide with an unraced juvie in his yard' but kept quiet ...

Well it appears he was right. I am very happy for him and the whole yard.

Oh ye, the David Nieuwenhuizen yard are damn good. One thing we have always appreciated is their honesty..GO DAVID NIEUWENHUIZEN YARD!!!!!!!!!-)-D

Thank you for your input re the purchase of VB however take note that even you were not sure she could win or even see a racecourse for that due to her mother not seeing one so with all due respect Mr Taylor I would think it was because of the owners deciding to purchase that horse is the reason they have it...

Maybe in future you should not speak on behalf of someone else not knowing the full story behind the purchase or the work of VB or anything else for that matter....I know Mr Foster and am fully aware of your friend Lenny Taylor being rewarded for his part played in the purchase of VB, if u know Mr Lenny Taylor as well as you say I wonder Y he had forgotton to mention that....Mr Lenny Taylor may or may not have been mentioned on TV but does any of you have any idea the gud things that have been mentioned about the man..NO I GUESS NOT.....BUT NOW ME PERSONALLY JUDGING FROM WHAT U HAVE SAID I HAVE RECONSIDERED MY THOUGHTS OF LENNY TAYLOR AND THINK NOW THAT THIS IS NOT A GUD MAN AT ALL...

And now to all the glory seekers where were url when the horse ran its 1st run and ran 4th and it's 2nd run and ran 6th so now do you think its fair that now that the horse has won a Feature that you guy's should be claiming the glory or should be pissed off cos just maybe the owners forgot to mention your name in all that excitment on the day of the race ????????????
